Associate Director Sales Development

The Associate Director, Sales Development will be responsible for the following:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership & Coaching
- Hire, onboard, coach, and develop Sales Development Reps (SDRs); create clear expectations and career paths.
- Run weekly 1:1s, call/email coaching, role plays, and performance improvement plans when needed.
- Establish a high-accountability culture focused on activity quality, conversion rates, and learning.
Pipeline & Lead Generation Ownership
- Own SDR-sourced pipeline targets (meetings held, qualified opportunities, pipeline $ influenced).
- Design and optimize outbound prospecting programs (sequences/cadences, talk tracks, personas).
- Ensure fast, consistent follow-up on inbound leads and tight handoffs to Business Development (BD).
Process, Reporting & Execution
- Build and manage dashboards for activity, meetings set/held, conversion rates, and pipeline impact.
- Maintain CRM integrity: lead status definitions, routing rules, stage criteria, and data quality.
- Standardize qualification and handoff (discovery notes and next steps).
- Implement and continuously improve SOPs and playbooks for prospecting and inbound handling.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Marketing on campaign follow-up, content needs, lead scoring, and event strategy.
- Align with Sales/BD on target accounts, meeting quality, feedback loops, and pipeline reviews.
- Provide market intelligence on objections, competitors mentions, and buyer priorities.
Enablement & Tools
- Own SDR tech stack (CRM + sales engagement + data tools) and ensure adoption.
- Create onboarding curriculum and ongoing enablement (product, industry, messaging, compliance).
- Ensuring outreach aligns with brand standards and applicable privacy/compliance requirements.
Success Metrics
- SDR-sourced pipeline ($) and qualified opportunities created
- Meetings held (quality + volume) and meeting-to-opportunity conversion
- Activity and productivity (by rep and team)
- Speed-to-lead (inbound) and lead-to-meeting conversion
- CRM/data quality and process adherence
- Rep ramp time and retention/engagement
Candidate Experience & Requirements
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years in B2B sales/sales development, including 2+ years managing Sales Development Reps
- Demonstrated success building or scaling outbound/inbound lead generation programs
- Strong coaching ability with a track record of improving rep performance
- Analytical and metrics-driven; comfortable with pipeline math and forecasting inputs
- Proficiency with CRMs (Salesforce/HubSpot) and sales engagement tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling into pharma/biotech, healthcare, SaaS, or services
- Familiarity with clinical research, patient engagement, recruitment/enrollment, or digital health
- Experience supporting enterprise sales cycles and multi-stakeholder buying groups
